Build strength, flexibility, and confidence on the reformer - in Hayward, Wisconsin.

I opened Pilates in the Pines because Reformer Pilates changed my life, and I wanted to make those same benefits accessible to my neighbors and friends in the Hayward area.
Reformer Pilates changed my life, and I wanted my neighbors and friends in the Hayward area to be able to have that same experience. Opening Pilates in the Pines is the culmination of years of hard work, fun and lots of daydreaming! As the first Reformer-based Pilates studio in Northwestern Wisconsin, my goal is simple: create a fun, comfortable, welcoming space where anyone can build strength, move better, and feel more confident in their body, no matter where they are currently with their own fitness.

What is
Pilates is a form of mind-body exercise that develops core stability, total body strength, flexibility, and balance, with specific attention to core muscle control, posture, and breathing. This is all enabled through spring-supported movement on the Pilates reformer.
The work that we do here carries into all that we do out there: walking, standing, reading, skiing, hiking, fishing, golfing, pickleball, or just simply working. Whatever you do, Pilates will make it better!
With a regular Pilates practice, you will see in your own body a significant reduction in back pain, stiffness, and inflammation. Your balance will improve, you will become more flexible, and realize a newfound ease of movement in all of your daily activities.
Our Approach
At Pilates in the Pines, we draw from multiple schools of thought to create our own hybrid class routines as well as group, one on one, and duet instruction.
Classical Pilates
Joseph Pilates’ original method was created in order to build full-body strength through traditional sequencing and athletic movement patterns that develop power, stamina, and control.
STOTT Pilates
Core strength, alignment, balance, breath, and posture are all key target areas of the more modern Stott approach, with the ultimate goal being the strengthening of the smaller stabilizing muscles and connective tissues that enable healthy movement. As we increase the strength and flexibility of these tiny supportive tissues we reduce the likelihood of injury while using the larger mass muscle groups.

Who it's for
EVERYONE! Pilates is for beginners, returning movers, post-surgery recovery, athletes, seniors, and everyone in between. At Pilates in the Pines, we meet you where you are, so you can feel better with everything you do!

Joseph Pilates said it best. Here's what consistent practice actually delivers.
"In 10 sessions you'll feel the difference, in 20 you'll see the difference, and in 30 you'll have a completely new body."
- Joseph Pilates
10
Sessions: You'll feel the difference
Improved posture. Deeper core engagement. More awareness of how you move and breathe. Long-standing aches and tension begin to ease. Every day activities become easier and more enjoyable.
20
Sessions: You'll see the difference
Shoulders are more open. The spine is longer. The body looks leaner, more aligned, and more awake. You stand taller in your own body and feel stronger with every casual movement.
30
Sessions: A completely new body
This is the real transformation, which has taken place from the inside out! After 30 sessions, you've retrained your nervous system, realigned your posture, rebuilt your deep support muscles, all while improving your mental clarity.

Group classes
Three reformer class formats - each designed for a different need. All levels welcome. Group Classes are 50 minutes in length.
The Basics - An Introductory Level Class
This is reformer Pilates basics. Whether you are new to Pilates, trying to build strength from a period of inactivity, or recovering from injury or surgery, your entire body will thank you as you build total core strength, and improve your flexibility and balance from the ground up.
Stretch and Strength - The Everything Class!
If you are comfortable on a reformer, this class is for you! We bring out all the toys to give you a challenging, total-body Pilates experience. Balls, boxes, weights, rings, and towers are all part of fun while helping you to build strength, balance, and flexibility from top to toe.
Restore
The focus here is on deep breath work, stretching, and control with slow, mindful movement. This class is calming, relaxing, and energizing all at the same time. It just feels so good!
One-on-one or two-person sessions
Private and Duet sessions are fully customized, one on one or two-person sessions designed around your activites, goals, and current level of fitness. We will move at a comfortable pace with clear instruction, and hands-on guidance when helpful. Stott based progressions will help build core strength, flexibility, balance and control at an appropriate challenge level for you. A more classical approach may be a better fit for athletes in training or those wanting to focus on strong moves and flexibility. Perfect for beginners, returning movers, athletes, and anyone who prefers personalized attention.
